    Newsome’s History in Industrial Dehumidification

Newsome has been supporting UK businesses with environmental control equipment since 1973. Early work centred on process cooling and heating, before expanding into full HVAC and humidity control. Over the decades the company has installed and maintained dehumidification systems for manufacturing plants, food production facilities, pharmaceutical sites, packaging companies, logistics centres and research environments. The engineering team includes specialists in air handling, desiccant drying, heat recovery and humidity management. This background enables Newsome to understand both the equipment and the surrounding systems that influence performance. Project support covers site surveys, air volume calculations, dew point requirements, energy considerations and full compliance with relevant standards.

Many clients rely on Newsome for long-term servicing, ensuring their dehumidifiers operate at consistent performance levels. Preventative maintenance, filter changes, rotor inspections and capacity checks all form part of the ongoing support available.

    DST Dehumidifiers Available Through Newsome

DST offers a broad range of industrial desiccant dehumidifiers. The systems below cover light industrial tasks through to fully engineered high-capacity solutions for demanding environments.

Flexisorb (RF and CF) Industrial Desiccant Dehumidification Systems

Flexisorb units are compact, custom-built systems designed for the process industry. Each unit is built around the DST desiccant rotor and can be configured under the Recusorb or Consorb principle. This flexibility allows the system to meet a wide range of moisture removal requirements. Flexisorb systems are capable of delivering dew points down to minus 60°C in a single pass. This level of performance is essential in facilities where strict humidity targets are needed, including precision manufacturing and critical storage environments.

Their modular construction and compact footprint allow integration into existing plant layouts. Each unit can be matched with additional modules for cooling, heating or filtration when required.

RLZ and CZ Industrial Desiccant Dehumidifiers

RLZ and CZ systems are suited to large-scale dehumidification tasks in industries such as chemical processing, pharmaceutical production, food manufacturing, warehousing, cold storage and sports facilities. RLZ units are manufactured from Aluzinc and include internal heat recovery as standard. These operate on the Recusorb principle and provide strong performance across variable load conditions. The CZ series is built for deep drying and uses the Consorb principle, making it suitable for applications with high moisture loads or low temperature operation.

Both ranges are available with electric, steam, direct fired gas or hot water reactivation heaters. Each unit contains G4 air inlet filters, process and reactivation fans, the D-Max desiccant rotor, an electric control panel and the PLC C2 control system with integrated capacity management.

Capacity control options include two-step, multi-step or full PI linear control. Additional features available include stainless steel chassis, enhanced insulation, frequency inverters for fan motors, F7 bag filters, and advanced PLC control with Modbus TCP or IP connectivity.

R and RL Series Desiccant Dehumidifiers

The R and RL series sits between compact systems and high-capacity industrial models. These stainless-steel units are suitable for dry-air storage, cold stores, sports halls, clean rooms, museums and pneumatic conveying systems. Each unit includes internal heat recovery, an electric reactivation system and Auto or Manual mode switching. The R Series is supplied with the D-Max ceramic silica gel rotor, G4 filters, reactivation heaters, fans and all required controls. Steam reactivation is available for sites where it offers operational advantages. R and RL units arrive pre-wired for two-step control using the EH4 controller. They can also be configured for linear capacity control via EH3 or a BMS signal if required.

    Flex Industrial Desiccant Drying Systems

These systems are designed to complement the RLZ series. They are supplied as bolt-on modules that expand the capabilities of the core dehumidifier. Available modules include pre-cooling, post-cooling, pre-heating, post-heating, and filtration to F7. Customers using these systems can build a complete air handling and drying system that matches process requirements precisely. Modules are constructed with aluminium frames and double-skin insulated Aluzinc panels filled with mineral wool. Each module is supported on its own frame for straightforward installation and maintenance.

    DC and DR Series Dehumidifiers

The DC and DR series is designed for applications that require compact but effective desiccant drying. Typical uses include flood recovery, temporary humidity control, research laboratories, museums, dry air stores and smaller production processes.

These units use stainless-steel construction as standard and come in three configurations: Aquasorb, Consorb and Recusorb. Each system includes the D-Max ceramic silica gel rotor. Single phase models use PTC thermistor technology for self-regulating reactivation heating, providing safety and energy efficiency. Three phase units use resistive heaters. All units include Auto or Manual switching and are pre-wired for easy humidistat connection using an Amphenol plug.
